This immersive journey combines nature, culture, and adventure in Ethiopia’s pristine wilderness.
Drive from Addis Ababa to Bale Mountains National Park via Shashamane. Pass through the scenic Rift Valley lakes. Upon arrival at Dinsho, meet your local guide and scout, then take a short walk around the area to spot mountain nyala, Menelik’s bushbuck, and warthog.
Overnight: Camping/Lodge at Dinsho
Begin your trek through the Gaysay grasslands and juniper woodlands. Enjoy scenic trails with opportunities to see endemic bird species and mammals. Arrive at Sodota campsite by the Web River for an evening under the stars.
Overnight: Camping at Sodota
Continue trekking across open valleys and rocky highlands. En route, visit the Web Valley, an excellent spot for birdwatching and possible sightings of Ethiopian wolves. Arrive at Keyrensa campsite surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.
Overnight: Camping at Keyrensa
Hike toward the Sanetti Plateau region. The terrain becomes more alpine with giant lobelia plants dotting the landscape. Spot birds of prey and enjoy panoramic vistas. Camp near Rafu with views over the highlands.
Overnight: Camping at Rafu
Trek across the Sanetti Plateau, one of Africa’s highest moorlands. Climb Tulu Dimtu (4,377 m), Ethiopia’s second-highest peak, for stunning views. Descend to meet your vehicle and drive to Goba town for a comfortable night’s rest.
Overnight: Hotel/Lodge in Goba
Drive to the Harenna Forest, the largest cloud forest in Ethiopia. Enjoy a nature walk among bamboo, wild coffee plants, and waterfalls. Visit a local coffee-producing village and experience the traditional coffee ceremony.
Overnight: Lodge in Harenna or Goba
After breakfast, drive back to Addis Ababa via Asela. Stop for lunch en route and enjoy views of farmlands and mountains. Arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon — end of tour.

It is a great place to shop not too far from New York. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.
